If money was no object, what would you do to make yourself happy? Then why not work on those things on a smaller scale?

Hey there, how are you?  Let’s start today’s blog with this powerful quote that I wrote.  ‘’If money was no object, what would you do to make yourself happy?  Then why not work on those things on a smaller scale?’’  This quote has had a powerful impact and response from people.

Why is this quote so powerful?  I will explain why.  I understand that money is a resource and that it’s needed to a degree for certain things to happen.  However, the lack of money does not have to prevent you from working towards your goals and dreams.  This is often used as an excuse for people to not take action.  There are actionable steps that people can work on such as researching, networking, improving themselves and other similar things.  There are also platforms such as go fund me and we are in a world of technology.  The cost of doing certain things has gone down due to technology.  The opportunities are there to generate income even if it’s on a smaller scale.

What drives this quote home is the following.  If you have the mindset that you CAN do something and if you have the drive and passion to put consistent effort into it, it will lead you closer to success.  We can take small steps on a regular basis towards our goals.  The goals can be any goal that you set out for yourself to make yourself happy.  It’s not limited to financial goals; it can be personal goals as well.

With technology today, there are many options of things that you can do inexpensively or with no cost at all to work towards your goal.  You can also network and research as well.  Although resources are needed at times to make things happen, that doesn’t have to stop you in your process of discovering what you want to do and to create a reasonable action plan to implement.

I challenge you today to think about what would make you happy if money was no object.  What is a goal or dream that you have that you would love to accomplish?  Take note of that.

The next step after that after this to carve out non-negotiable time on a daily or weekly basis to work towards your goal happening.  This can include research, networking or any other practical steps towards working on your goal.

This may lead you to discover something else that you want to do to perhaps generate some income while you’re working on a bigger goal if your goal requires finances.

The non-negotiable time is extremely important.  I practice non-negotiable time every day.  I carve out at least 1 to 2 hours every day to work on my vocals, piano, guitar and to brainstorm ideas for songs and books.  During this time, I don’t allow any distractions.  This is the process that I use to get a lot accomplished.

After that, I spend time on things based on what’s needed.  Some days some things require more time than other days.

The biggest takeaway for you is the following.  Discover what will make you happy and work towards that with non-negotiable time.  You might be surprised at how much you get accomplished.
